The idea of kist.e is that one need not employ the latest and greatest Web technologies when simple, widely accepted, user-friendly, practical, and less expensive bells and whistles will more than suffice for most small-to-medium sized sites. Standards-compliant Web technologies and tested open source scripts and programs, database applications, and content management systems all fall within the suffice category. kist.e also embraces the idea that those who don't want to be bothered with the technology need not. They can focus on content and related matters that are more important. kist.e is Kevin Mactavish, and I often work for clients in the Czech Republic. For legal and business reasons there and elsewhere, I operate under the name of kist.e, essentially as an independent contractor located outside of the country. My other clients are mostly in Colorado, in the US. Either way, the work gets done promptly to my client's satisfaction, and I am paid either by wire or electronic transfer of funds into either Czech or US banks. I use a written agreement, and that is in the form of an e-mail message made legal and binding with the payment of a deposit for specified work to be completed. Each agreement is unique and tailored to what the client wants and needs. |
